Congratulations on booking your Simply You session with us! We're excited to capture the beautiful, subtle details that make your child unique. This guide contains everything you need to know to prepare for your session, from what to wear to where to park.
About Your First Birthday Session
Time flies during a baby's first year, and it's incredible to reflect on their growth. Let's celebrate this milestone with an unforgettable first birthday experience at our upscale downtown Naperville studio.
Our bright and airy studio provides the perfect backdrop to capture simple yet impactful first year images of your little one. Let us handle all the details, from the cake to the balloons. Your baby's journey deserves the perfect setting.
Before your Shoot
Your session date and time has been reserved for you. If you need to reschedule please get in touch with us ASAP.
Rescheduled dates must be held within 90 days of your original session date.
Due to the custom nature of our photography services, all sales are final.
Session Creative Fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Cancellations and no-shows will forfeit their entire session fee.
Make sure to sign the photo contract that will come to you by email.
You will work with Jordan to decide on balloon colors and smash cake. We offer a 3 inch cupcake from Molly’s Cupcakes or a 5 inch smash cake from a local bakery.
Families often choose colors based on the birthday party and we recommend planning your shoot at around 11 months so that you can use the photos for your birthday celebrations and thank you notes!

For every person that books a photo shoot of their own before you come in for your photo shoot, you will receive $100 in print credit with the purchase of your photo package.

What to Wear
Keep it simple and timeless
Solid colors work best, particularly soft neutrals or pastels
Avoid busy patterns, logos, or characters
Comfort is key—choose clothes your child feels good in
Consider simple shoes or a barefoot look
We recommend choosing a simple solid color diaper for one of the looks and for the actual cake smash to avoid getting food on their clothing
Each session comes with enough time for 2 outfits and one no outfit look (just a diaper).
The Day of Your Shoot
Ensure your child is well-rested and fed
Bring a favorite toy or book for comfort - these can be great additions to shoot as well
Arrive 5 minutes early to settle in - I may be with another client but you are welcome to sit in our living room to get situated

A Note for Parents…..
We understand that children don't always behave as parents might expect or hope during a photo session. Don't worry! With 14 years of experience capturing little ones, we've learned that these moments often lead to the most authentic and magical images.

Location and Parking
At Studio25 Naperville in historic downtown Naperville at 25 W. Jefferson 2nd floor. We have parking available in order to make these sessions even more simple!
After the Session - Ordering Process
We'll schedule a Viewing and Ordering Session within a week of your shoot
Our goal is to have your Portraits edited and ready to view within 24 hours of your session - The instant gratification is really fun!
Our Viewing and Ordering Session can be done at Studio 25 Naperville or Online via GoogleMeet
Please make sure to schedule this Viewing and Ordering session when all decision-makers are present
If we need to add on an additional viewing session a $150 fee will be applied to your final purchase
During our Viewing and Ordering Session you will view a slideshow of your images and after the slideshow you will have the opportunity to select your favorite images
Plan to purchase a photo collection during our Viewing and Ordering Session
Due to the custom nature of photography portraits, all sales are final
The session fee that you paid at booking is separate and does not apply towards your photo package purchase
We Offer 2 payment Plans for Collections
Pay for your photo package in full at the end of our Viewing and Ordering session with credit card, Venmo or Zelle
Apply for financing through AfterPay, Affirm, or PayPal Credit. AfterPay allows for 4 interest-free payments. PayPal offers 6 months of interest-free payments. If you plan to use PayPal Credit, create a PayPal account and apply for PayPal credit before your photo shoot by googling “Apply for PayPal Credit”

Image Retouching/Photoshopping
At Ten Little Bluebirds, we rely primarily on posing and light to make your portraits look amazing. We specialize in realistic retouching.
We offer complimentary retouching on all of your photos (no additional cost) to make sure you look your best
We start with a light retouch but when we review the pictures together during your ordering session we will take note on any further retouching that may be needed and the final Digital Archive Images and Prints will be retouched according to your specifications and our discussion during the Viewing and Ordering Session
As needed, the complimentary retouching on your photos will include skin tone correction, smoothing, blemish and bruise removal, and clothing wrinkle reduction
Want something retouched that you are not seeing here? Just let us know. Basic photo retouching requests may incur additional costs.
After The Shoot
After our Viewing and Ordering Session your images will be sent to print and/or retouching immediately after your order is placed. Due the custom nature of our work, all sales are final
For your privacy, all images that are not purchased will be deleted
Digital images will be delivered to you in 7-10 business days via a Pixieset Gallery sent to the email address on file
Print products will arrive on your doorstep in 4-6 weeks. Multiple items may arrive separately. Rush delivery is available for an additional cost
Most clients choose to have their products shipped straight to their doorstep. You may also make an appointment to pick up your photo products at the studio
