• Set up a call with Emily to finalize location and any details for the the session-book Your call here

• Or reach out to our favorite stylist, Andrea at Styled By Golden Iris, and tell her we sent you
  (her styling fees are not included in session fees but she is a great resource if you need a little extra help and don’t have the time to plan it yourself)

• Consider getting a facial and/or start a skin care treatment that nourishes and hydrates your skin.

• If you would like hair and makeup for the photoshoot make sure to connect with our studio admin, Jordan, to decide whether hair and makeup will be taking place in your home (for on-location sessions) or you are welcome to do hair and makeup in our studio if you have booked a studio session and the studio is available. Jordan will help you coordinate. If you decide to have hair and makeup in your home please let her know any important details regarding, location, parking and entry into your home. • Send Jordan a picture (an iPhone picture is fine) of you so that we can get this in advance to our hair and makeup artist

• Think through any areas of your home that you may want wall art hung and send Jordan a phone

  pic of an 8.5x11 piece of paper on the wall in these areas.

• Look for a calendar invite for hair and make up as well as the photo shoot itself

What to Wear

• Keep it simple and timeless

• Solid colors work best, particularly soft neutrals or pastels

• Avoid busy patterns, logos, or characters

• Comfort is key especially when it comes to children — make sure to choose clothes that your child(ren) feels good in

• Consider barefoot (in the studio) or simple shoes. Women, if your shoot is on-location feel free to wear tennis shoes or flip-flops and switch to the heels for walking between locations

• Each session is around 60 minutes. If we are shooting in your home we may have time for a second look feel free to discuss with Emily if you plan to do 2 looks

The Day before Your Shoot

• Have clothing, shoes, accessories selected and ready to go

• Review day-of schedule for hair, makeup, and shoot sent by Jordan

• Double-check timing of hair and make-up and location

The Day of Your Shoot

• Ensure you and your child is well-rested and fed

• If you are coming to the studio bring a favorite toy or book for comfort - these can be great additions to shoot as well

• If you are coming to the studio arrive 5 minutes early to settle in - I may be with another client but you are welcome to sit in our living room to get situated

• Have clothing, shoes, accessories selected and ready to go

During the Session

• Relax and let Emily guide the process

• We will make sure to guide you through all the poses and take you to the very best spots

• Trust the process—even shy children usually warm up quickly

Location and Parking information for Studio 25 Naperville

Our studio is in historic downtown Naperville at 25 W. Jefferson 2nd floor. We have parking available in order to make these sessions even more simple!
