A Photographer's Home Update: How Wallpaper Inspired a Family Photoshoot
Creating Timeless Memories at Home
The results of our impromptu family session were beautiful. The wallpaper provided a bold, yet elegant and timeless backdrop that complemented Maggie and Hazel beautifully. It's amazing how a simple home update can lead to such inspiration and beautiful, lasting memories. Why Consider a Statement Wall in Your Home?
While this wallpaper won't be a regular backdrop for client shoots, it's inspired me to think about how personal spaces can be transformed for photography. Here's why you might consider a statement wall in your own home:
Everyday Backdrop: Turn daily moments into photo opportunities.
Personalized Touch: Reflect your style in your family photos.
Versatility: Works for various types of casual shoots - from baby milestones to family gatherings.
Unique Memories: Create one-of-a-kind images in the comfort of your home.
As a Naperville family and baby photographer, I'm always drawn to beautiful backdrops - even in my own home! I'm excited to share a recent update to my living room that unexpectedly turned into a stunning photoshoot opportunity.
An Anthropologie Find Transforms My Living Room
While browsing Anthropologie (a dangerous pastime for my wallet!), I stumbled upon a wallpaper that instantly caught my eye. The pattern was so captivating that I knew it would be perfect for my living room. Little did I know, it would soon become the star of an impromptu family photoshoot (along with my adorable niece and sister)!
Family Visit Leads to Photographic Magic
As luck would have it, my sister Maggie visited from Los Angeles with her adorable little girl, Hazel, soon after I installed the wallpaper. As a photographer, I couldn't resist the opportunity to capture some precious moments against this new backdrop. And Maggie couldn’t resist updated pictures of Hazel who is growing up so quickly!
Bringing Interior Design and Photography Together
As a photographer, I'm always looking at how interior design elements can enhance images. This experience has reminded me of the beauty that can be found in personal spaces. It's about creating art that captures your family's personality in a setting that's uniquely yours.
Inspiration for Your Own Home Photography
Do you have a fun wallpaper or statement wall in your home? I'd love to hear about it! Share in the comments how you've incorporated unique design elements into your space.
Remember, while I typically shoot on-location or in my studio for client sessions, this experience has reinforced my belief in the power of personalized spaces for creating meaningful photographs.
Don't forget - these precious moments with your loved ones fly by so quickly. Whether it's in a professional setting or in the comfort of your own home, let's make sure to capture them before they fly away!
