• Consultation with Emily: We’ll schedule a planning call to finalize your location, session details, and creative direction. This ensures we capture not only the imagery you need but also the images you’ll love living with, whether that’s on your website, in marketing, or even framed in your office as aspirational artwork that reinforces your brand presence.

• Wardrobe Styling: Use our Style & Select Tool styleandselect.com/p/emilytenlittlebluebirds-com with code TLBstyle to plan and coordinate your outfits. Choosing pieces that align with your brand colors and aesthetic will keep your images cohesive across platforms.

• Skin Prep: Consider booking a facial or starting a nourishing skincare treatment to keep your skin hydrated and glowing for session day.

• Hair & Makeup: Hair & Makeup: All of our studio sessions include complimentary professional hair and makeup for one person so you feel confident and camera-ready. If additional team members would like hair and makeup, I can coordinate (emily@emilycummingsphotography.com) can coordinate services starting at $300 per person or we can hire our artists for day rates based on how many additional services are needed. For on-location sessions, hair and makeup can also be arranged, costs my differ slightly based on location. Just let us know your preferences as well as any important details such as parking and entry access if services will take place in your home.

• Wall Art Planning: Think through any areas of your home or office where you’d like to display wall art from your session. For sizing guidance, simply tape an 8.5x11 sheet of paper to the wall and send Jordan a quick photo. This helps us design artwork to scale and envision how your images will elevate your space.

• Scheduling: Look for calendar invites confirming your hair & makeup appointment (if applicable) and your photo shoot.

• Pre-Payment Perks: Pre-pay for your image collection to receive bonus images and a complimentary desk art piece. Since all custom sessions require a first collection purchase, pre-payment is a great way to plan ahead and maximize your investment.

  • Keep it simple and timeless. Choose outfits that align with your brand identity, clean, modern silhouettes that won’t feel dated in a year.

  • Colors with purpose. Solid colors and neutrals photograph beautifully, especially when they reflect or complement your brand palette.

  • Avoid distractions. Skip busy patterns, logos, or overly trendy items that can take the focus away from you and your message.

  • Levels of dress. Bring a mix of looks that capture different sides of your brand. For example:

• Have your clothing, shoes, and accessories selected, steamed, and ready to go.

• Review the detailed schedule for hair, makeup, and your session provided by Jordan.

• Double-check the timing and locations for each part of your day so everything runs smoothly.

The Day of Your Shoot

• Arrive well-rested and hydrated so you feel your best on camera.

• If you are coming to the studio, plan to arrive about 5 minutes early to get settled. I may be finishing up with another client, but you are welcome to relax in our living room space while you get situated.

• Bring your pre-selected wardrobe pieces and accessories neatly organized to make outfit changes seamless.

During the Session

• Relax and enjoy the experience….this is your time to shine.

• I will guide you through every pose, expression, and location so you never feel uncertain about what to do.

• Trust the process. My team and I will make sure you feel comfortable and confident while capturing images that represent the very best of you and your brand.

Our studio is located in historic downtown Naperville at 25 W. Jefferson Avenue, 2nd Floor. Reserved parking is available to make your session as simple and stress-free as possible.
